The Chinese opium smoker : Twelve coloured illustrations showing the ruin which our opium trade with China is bringing upon that country.
A twelve-plate anti-opium tract issued by S. W. Partridge in London around 1875, aimed at British readers campaigning against the China opium trade. Hand-coloured lithographs follow one household's decline through garden pavilions, curtained beds and riverbank huts, giving designers pale washed greens and pinks, figures in Qing dress, and interiors drawn in steep oblique perspective.
