The laboratory, or school of arts ... / Compiled from German, and other foreign authors. Illustrated with copper-plates. By G. Smith.
An 18th-century English technical manual of recipes and trade processes, compiled by Godfrey Smith from German and other foreign sources and printed for J. Hodges in London in 1755 for artisans, craftsmen and amateur experimenters. The engraved plates are lettered perspective and geometry diagrams — vanishing-point ray bundles, dotted construction lines, and blocks and prisms shaded with fine parallel hatching — usable as line-art motifs, diagram borders, or hatch textures.
