Costumes on the western coast of Africa / By an officer of the Commissariat.
A slim album of hand-coloured lithographed costume plates drawn by T. W. Ramsay, a British commissariat officer posted to West Africa, and issued in London around 1831 for readers at home. Figures stand in twos and threes on tufted green ground, wearing blue and red robes, embroidered caps and head-cloths, carrying spears, trumpets, flutes and a frame drum.
