William Lilly's history of his life and times : from the year 1602 to 1681
A London reprint of 1822, issued by Charles Baldwin, of the astrologer William Lilly's autobiographical account of his life from 1602 to 1681, with material by the antiquary Elias Ashmole, for readers of antiquarian and occult literature. The eleven plates are engraved bust portraits of seventeenth-century men in stipple and fine line, showing shoulder-length hair, falling bands, buttoned coats and a buff coat with studded bandolier, useful for period faces, hair textures and engraved tonal shading.
