William Morris to Whistler; papers and addresses on art and craft and the commonweal
Collected papers and lectures on art, craft and design by the English illustrator and Arts and Crafts designer Walter Crane, published in London by G. Bell & Sons in 1911 for artists, craftworkers and students of design reform. The plates are halftone photographs of relief-carved and modelled panels—banded friezes of animals and figures, medallions enclosing dragons, dense acanthus and arabesque scrollwork—useful as sources for repeating border strips, cartouche frames and low-contrast textured ornament.
