Winkles's architectural and picturesque illustrations of the cathedral churches of England and Wales
A three-volume survey of English and Welsh cathedrals engraved by Benjamin Winkles after drawings by Robert Garland, with text by Thomas Moule, published in London in 1836 for antiquarians and church tourists. The steel engravings favour interior perspectives down naves and aisles, with rib vaults, clustered piers and tracery windows rendered in fine grey tonal line, tiny figures set in for scale.
