Winkles's architectural and picturesque illustrations of the cathedral churches of England and Wales

Winkles, Benjamin · 1836 · London : E. Wilson ; Charles Tilt · 61 pictures

A three-volume survey of English and Welsh cathedrals, engraved on steel by Benjamin Winkles after measured drawings by Robert Garland and others, published in London in 1836 for antiquarians and architectural subscribers. The plates are deep-toned interior perspectives — clustered piers, rib and fan vaulting, triforium arcades, tracery windows — with small clerical and family figures set in for scale.
