Workes of armorie : deuyded into three bookes, entituled, the Concordes of armorie, the Armorie of honor, and of Coates and creastes
An Elizabethan heraldry manual by John Bossewell, printed by Richard Tottell in London in 1572 for gentlemen, officers of arms and students of blazon, drawing on Gerard Legh's earlier treatise. The 331 woodcuts are small shields filled with ermine spots, crosses, chevrons, fleurs-de-lis and beast heads in stark black and white, useful as compact heraldic motifs, repeat patterns and badge silhouettes.
