The work and position of the metallurgical chemist; also references to Sheffield and its place in metallurgy
A 1922 printed address by the Sheffield steel manufacturer Sir Robert Abbott Hadfield, issued in Sheffield for the local Association of Metallurgists and Metallurgical Chemists and aimed at working industrial chemists. The single plate is a halftone portrait photograph: a bearded man in a pinstriped suit, turned three-quarters, lit from one side against a near-black ground, useful as a period studio-portrait reference or a high-contrast cutout head.
