The works of Horatio Walpole, earl of Orford
The collected works of Horace Walpole, issued in London in 1798 by G. G. and J. Robinson and James Edwards, drawing on George Vertue's notebooks and edited with Mary Berry's help for antiquaries and connoisseurs of English art. The plates are line-engraved half-length portraits of painters and engravers—long curled wigs, wide collars, loose cloaks, some set in oval frames or holding brushes—useful for hatched shading, oval borders, and engraver's signature lines.
