Yorkshire potteries, pots and potters
A 1916 survey of Yorkshire pottery works and their makers by Oxley Grabham, issued in York by Coultas & Volans for the Yorkshire Philosophical Society's annual report, aimed at museum curators and collectors of regional earthenware. The plates are halftone photographs of single vessels against plain grounds — mask-spouted jugs, pierced puzzle jugs, relief-moulded hunting scenes, and transfer-printed verses framed by cartouches — useful for silhouettes, handle and spout profiles, painted floral sprigs, and lettered panel layouts.
