Zederyke zinnebeelden der tonge
A Dutch emblem book of moral figures on the tongue, written by Matthaeus Brouerius van Nidek with plates by Jacob Folkema, Arnold Houbraken and Jacob Schijnvoet, issued in Amsterdam by Pieter Meijer in 1764 for pious lay readers. The 42 small square copperplates set tiny figures in canal streets, harbour quays with masts, and wooded riverbanks, all inside ruled and hatched borders useful as vignettes, frames and landscape spot-illustrations.
