The journal of the Deutscher Verein zur Förderung der Luftschiffahrt, published in Berlin from 1882 for the engineers, officers and scientists who followed early German ballooning and flight research. Its figures are engraved instrument diagrams and bare geometric constructions set into German letterpress columns — a thermograph's coiled spiral in its wire cage, circles lettered A, B, C in red-brown ink — usable as technical line stock, measurement motifs, and text-and-figure page layouts.
