ENGLAND Late 1 3th century. Figure of a knight em- broidered in split and raised pattern stitches over threads, in gold and silver threads and col- oured silks. The green velvet on which the em- broidery was mounted is now cut away close to the edge. (In Stoney- hurst College.)
