t.H. 7 in. Faience, has had a green glaze. 3797. Model of an Archimedian Screw. 11 consists of a cylinder in terracotta witha screw inside it. Near the centre of the exterior is a band, with cross-piecesto represent footholds, as this machine was probably worked after the mannerof the treadmill.… … Fig- 3797- bilge water out of the holds of ships, and was also used in the Delta of Egyptfor purposes of irrigation.
