e two casks, c and d, are for holding theproduce to be steamed. They contain about three hundredweight each. The steamis conducted from the boiler to them by a pipe (one-inch) branching off to eacli bystopcocks. As many casks as may be necessary for the supply of food m.ay be attachedin the same… … or barrow to be introduced under them, to receive the contents. For boiling grain, thecask for holding it differs from those used in steaming potatoes only by not having ahatch in the bottom, as the hatch could not be easily made tight, which is necessary inboiling barley, as water must be mixed…
