ade so much progress. ‘The illustrated newspaper has in the main availed itself of the mere mechanicalness of process. Hence the development of half-tone and the consequent popularity of the photo- graph pure and simple. Personally, I have no great hope of the illustrated journal, or even of the… … one begins and the other ends.
