A school physics textbook by John Herbert Sangster, printed by John Lovell in Montreal in 1867 for Canadian normal, grammar and common-school pupils. The wood-engraved figures show sectioned pumps, siphons, letter-keyed pistons and cylinders, block-and-tackle pulley systems with load labels, and hatched water levels — usable as small technical vignettes, cutaway diagram parts and mechanical line motifs.
