Appleton's dictionary of machines, mechanics, engine-work, and engineering
Appleton's dictionary of machines, mechanics, engine-work, and engineering, an illustrated technical reference published by D. Appleton in New York in 1869 for engineers, machinists and trade students. The plates are wood-engraved line diagrams: sectional views with ruled hatching, gear wheels, shafts and cross-heads, dotted construction lines and small numbered labels, useful as engraved pattern fills and mechanical ornament.
