Astronomy for high schools and colleges
An 1889 American astronomy textbook by Simon Newcomb and Edward S. Holden, published by Henry Holt in New York for high school and college students. The plates are white-line geometric diagrams reversed out of black grounds — orbits, ellipses, celestial spheres, lettered points and dashed sight-lines — usable as ready-made star charts, technical line motifs, and high-contrast negative artwork.
