An atlas of clinical microscopy
A medical atlas of clinical microscopy by Alexander Peyer, translated and edited by Alfred C. Girard and published by D. Appleton in New York in 1885 for physicians and students examining blood, urine and other specimens. The plates are lithographs by Mezger showing circular microscope fields printed pale cream against solid black grounds, with faint outlined cell clusters, angular crystals, rods and thread-like filaments floating in the center; useful for high-contrast circular framing devices, scattered organic textures and sparse line motifs.
