Inside Out Library

The book of American interiors, prepared by Charles Wyllys Elliott from existing houses; with preliminary essays and letterpress descriptions; illustrated in heliotype

Elliott, Charles Wyllys, 1817-1883 · 1876 · Boston, J.R. Osgood and Co. · 55 pictures

A survey of furnished rooms in American houses, compiled by Charles Wyllys Elliott with essays and descriptive letterpress and published by J.R. Osgood in Boston in 1876 for householders and decorators. Heliotype plates give one-point perspective views of parlors, halls and libraries, dense with paneling, patterned carpets, mantels and bookcases, usable as period interior references and line-heavy room backdrops.
