A 1909 mechanical engineering thesis by Harold E. Cristy, Lion Gardiner, Wade W. Reece and John Frank Weiss, submitted at the University of Illinois, comparing steam consumption of small engines against steam turbines. The plates are hand-drawn curves inked on printed cross-section paper, with hand-lettered titles, sideways axis labels and circled data points, useful as period graph-paper textures, technical lettering models and plotted-curve shapes.
