A concise glossary of terms used in Grecian, Roman, Italian, and Gothic architecture

Parker, John Henry, 1806-1884 · 1879 · Oxford ; London : J. Parker · 382 pictures

A concise illustrated glossary of Greek, Roman, Italian and Gothic architectural terms, compiled by John Henry Parker and published in Oxford and London in 1879 for students, antiquaries and church restorers. The 385 wood engravings isolate single members — clustered shafts, octagonal piers, moulded cornices, arcaded wall bays — drawn in fine hatching with clean white grounds, usable as cut-out ornament, diagram parts or line-weight reference.
