Crockery & glass journal
A weekly American trade paper for the crockery, china and glass business, published in New York by G. Whittemore & Co. from 1875 for dealers, importers and manufacturers. Pictures are halftone photographs and line engravings of tableware against black or plain grounds: fluted urn-shaped salt shakers, lidded tureens, teapots, creamers, sugar bowls, cups and empty plates, with clean silhouettes and soft tonal shading that suit cutouts, object grids and pattern-free vessel outlines.
