Gardens in the making
A practical garden-design manual by the English architect Walter H. Godfrey, published in London by Batsford in 1914 for house-owners and designers laying out small formal gardens. Pen-and-ink bird's-eye views, measured plans and path-level sketches show walled enclosures, clipped hedges and geometric bed patterns in dense hatching — usable as plan ornament, texture fills and architectural vignettes.
