The Greek house; its history and development from the Neolithic period to the Hellenistic age
An archaeological study of Greek domestic architecture by Bertha Carr Rider, published by Cambridge University Press in 1916 for classicists and students of ancient building. The plates are black-and-white excavation ground plans: solid black wall masses, stippled courtyards, dotted colonnades, hatched thresholds and lettered rooms, useful as high-contrast geometric patterns, map motifs or diagrammatic backgrounds.
