Aërial navigation
A late nineteenth-century technical treatise on flight by Dutch engineer J. G. W. Fijnje van Salverda, translated by George E. Waring and published by D. Appleton in New York in 1894 for engineers and early aeronautical readers. The plates are spare line diagrams: sails and vanes on horizontal bars, dashed flight paths and arcs, lettered circle geometry, and an elevation of a cigar-shaped airship with rigging, useful as ready-made schematic linework and dotted-curve motion notation.
