How to work with the microscope
A practical microscopy manual by the English physician and histologist Lionel S. Beale, published in London by Harrison in 1865 for medical students and working laboratory observers. Wood engravings show brass microscopes, binocular tubes, stages, slide-mounting tools and dissecting apparatus in fine hatched line, alongside sparse outline drawings of magnified tissue, fungi and plant sections with section numbers and magnification notes.
