A dictionary of architecture and building; biographical, historical and descriptive
A three-volume illustrated reference on architecture and building terms, biography and history, compiled by American critic Russell Sturgis and published by Macmillan in New York in 1901 for architects, students and general readers. The plates are line engravings of elevations, sections and axonometric cutaways showing brick coursing, arcades, carved ornament and column orders, useful as clean linework, hatched textures and measured architectural detail.
