A dictionary of architecture and building; biographical, historical and descriptive
Russell Sturgis's three-volume Dictionary of Architecture and Building, published by Macmillan in New York in 1901 as a reference for architects, students and builders. The plates are line engravings and pen drawings of elevations, sections, plans and construction details, many with dimension lines and captions, useful for arcade and window motifs, carved ornament, and measured-drawing conventions.
