The encyclopaedia of sport
A multi-volume British reference work on sport and games, edited by the Earl of Suffolk and Berkshire with Hedley Peek and F. G. Aflalo, published in London by Lawrence and Bullen in 1897 for gentleman sportsmen and clubmen. The 267 plates mix halftone photographs of anglers, boats and open water with tonal wash drawings of game birds, racing yachts and hunting scenes, useful for grey-toned landscape backgrounds and animal silhouettes.
