Engraving and etching; a handbook for the use of students and print collectors
A technical handbook on engraving and etching by Friedrich Lippmann, revised by Max Lehrs and translated by Martin Hardie, published in London by H. Grevel in 1906 for art students and print collectors. Its 121 plates reproduce details from early German and Italian engravings and Dutch etchings: crowded heads, costumed figures, drapery folds and dense crosshatched shading useful as line-texture reference.
