Fairchild's rapid letterer and show-card maker, commercial alphabet construction with brush or pen
A trade manual of commercial lettering compiled by Sidney Hackes and issued by the Fairchild Company in New York and Chicago in 1910, aimed at sign writers and show-card makers working with brush and pen. Plates give complete alphabets reversed white on black, upper and lowercase, in italic script, shaded and flourished variants, alongside photographs of the hand holding the pen; useful for display alphabets, ampersands, punctuation and stroke-by-stroke construction diagrams.
