Designs for country churches

Truefitt, George · 1850 · London, Joseph Masters; Manchester, Simms and Dinham · 16 pictures

A pattern book of twenty-one Gothic Revival parish church designs by the English architect George Truefitt, issued in London and Manchester in 1850 for clergy, building committees and provincial builders. Each plate is a pen-and-ink perspective of a stone church set inside a pointed-arch border, numbered beneath in blackletter, with a small ruled floor plan and scale bar in the lower corner; useful for lineweight hatching, arch-shaped frames and architectural label lettering.
