Guter und schlechter Geschmack im Kunstgewerbe
A German design-reform treatise by museum curator Gustav Pazaurek, published in Stuttgart and Berlin in 1912, sorting the products of the applied arts into good and bad taste for manufacturers, craftsmen and museum visitors. The plates are halftone photographs of single objects — pierced metal vessels, a carved stone cup, a figured chalice, a scrolled cast-metal fountain — isolated on pale grounds, giving designers clean silhouettes, strong tonal contrast and a catalogue of ornament types shown as specimens.
