How to behave and how to amuse. A handy manual of etiquette and parlor games
A handy manual of etiquette and parlor games compiled by George Henry Sandison and issued by The Christian Herald in New York in 1895, aimed at middle-class American households. The wood-engraved figures show a single hand demonstrating tricks with matches, needles, thread and folded paper against dense cross-hatched backgrounds, giving designers isolated hands, small props and heavy black grounds.
