How to paint signs and sho' cards
A 1920 trade manual by sign painter E. C. Matthews, issued in New York by J. S. Ogilvie for shop-card writers and commercial letterers learning the craft by copying. The plates are ruled alphabet sheets in brush script, blackletter, rustic and shaded block letters, plus lettered headings and sample cards, giving designers complete character sets and stroke-by-stroke construction diagrams.
