International studio
The International Studio was the New York edition of the London art magazine The Studio, issued from 1897 for artists, collectors and decorators following current painting, etching and applied design. Plates run from sparse drypoint and etched landscapes to dark halftone reproductions of oil portraits and historical processions, alongside ornament, bookplates and poster work, giving designers tonal figure studies, loose ink-mass tree silhouettes and period lettering.
