A drawing manual on ornament by Frank G. Jackson, published in London by Chapman & Hall in 1888 for art students and design-school classes. Line plates build patterns step by step: corner fillings, diapered grounds, running borders, scrolls and leaf sprays, with diagrams of bi-, tri- and multi-symmetry and radiation from a vertical line, usable as repeatable motifs and layout skeletons.
