A technical periodical issued by the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company from 1867 onward for engineers, boiler inspectors and industrial policyholders. Line diagrams of boiler tubes, riveted seams and geometric proofs sit alongside halftone photographs of wrecked plants, splintered timber and burst shells, giving designers hatched engineering figures and stark ruin scenes in a narrow sepia range.
