A guidebook and art history of Madrid by Albert Frederick Calvert, published in London by John Lane in 1909 for English-speaking travellers and collectors of Spanish art. The plates are halftone photographs of city streets, palace and church facades, arcaded courtyards and vaulted interiors, plus reproductions of paintings, useful for period architectural detail, deep-perspective views and grainy monochrome texture.
