A manual of ancient sculpture, Egyptian - Assyrian - Greek - Roman
A survey of ancient sculpture by George Redford, published in London in 1886 for students, collectors and museum visitors, running from Egyptian and Assyrian work through Greek and Roman statuary. The plates are line and hatched engravings of single figures against blank grounds, showing standing nudes with tree-trunk and drapery supports, broken arms and plinths; useful as cut-out silhouettes, anatomical line studies, and classical motifs for collage or ornament.
