Unified S-band receiver-exciter subsystem
A 1968 NASA/JPL technical report by R. C. Bunce describing the unified S-band receiver-exciter subsystem used for tracking and ranging spacecraft such as Mariner 5, written for engineers on the Deep Space Network. Illustrations are line block diagrams of signal paths between antenna feed, parametric amplifier, receivers, exciter and doppler extractor, plus a halftone photograph of labelled equipment racks, useful for arrow-and-box schematic layouts, small-caps technical labelling and mid-century instrument panel detail.
