Notes and exercises in natural philosophy : including statics, hydrostatics, pneumatics, dynamics and hydrodynamics : designed for the use of normal and grammar schools, and the higher classes in common schools
A school physics textbook by John Herbert Sangster, printed in Montreal by John Lovell in 1860 for normal, grammar, and common school students working through statics, hydrostatics, pneumatics, and dynamics. The wood engravings are small mechanical diagrams — pulley blocks, toothed gear trains, windlasses and suspended weights labelled W and P — drawn in fine hatching with numbered force ratios usable as machine-part motifs.
