Ohio archæological and historical quarterly
A scholarly journal issued from 1887 by the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society in Columbus, reporting mound excavations, artifacts and state history for members and antiquarians. Halftone plates show earthwork cuts and trench walls, excavated skeletons in situ, and fragments of stamped pottery and stone, all coarse-grained, high-contrast grey masses usable as texture and ground.
