Outlines of astronomy
A mid-century American astronomy textbook, adapted from Thomas Grainger Hall's outlines by C. List and published in Philadelphia in 1850 for school and college students. The wood-engraved figures are lettered geometric diagrams: rayed suns, shadow cones for eclipses, nested orbital circles, and hatched hemispheres marking day and night, usable as line-work for celestial mechanics and diagram motifs.
