Physics of the household
Carleton John Lynde's Physics of the Household, published by Macmillan in New York in 1914, taught home-economics students the mechanics of plumbing, heating, lighting and appliances. The 187 line engravings are labelled cutaway diagrams of pumps, siphons, presses, lamps and gauges, with hatched water levels and lettered parts — useful for technical schematic motifs and cross-section shading.
