Prints; a brief review of their technique and history
A survey of printmaking technique and history written by Emil Heinrich Richter and published by Houghton Mifflin in 1914 for American collectors and students learning to tell engraving, etching, mezzotint and lithograph apart. The 71 plates reproduce old master and nineteenth-century prints: crowded robed figure groups, park scenes with fountains and strolling couples, and dense woodland studies built from tangled line, useful for line-texture samples, crowd silhouettes and tonal backgrounds.
