Radium, X rays and the living cell
A 1915 London medical monograph by Hector Colwell and Sidney Russ, published by G. Bell and Sons for physicians and researchers studying how radium and X-rays act on tissue. The plates are circular and rectangular microscope views drawn or photographed in grey halftone: fields of stippled nuclei, epithelial cell borders, connective-tissue fibres and lettered leader lines, useful as dense organic textures, dot fields and specimen framing devices.
